The cantilevered staircase give an apperence of the treads floating and give a simple clean open feel to the room where the staircase is located.
The installation of the floating cantilevered staircase will require a load bearing wall to carry the loadings from the stair treads although a steel sub frame can be utilised in a timber frame home and then lost within the wall construction so that the stair has its required strength and can then support a tread of 1200mm in length.
